To be completed - for the moment read the source and do NOT deploy if you do not know what you are doing. It is possible you will open your mail server as an open relay! Man pages have been included for the daemon and the configfile. In Brief: Ok the server is now working and I'm looking for Bugs coming up to the 1.0 release. Features to be implemented before 1.0 release: 1/ WinGate checks 2/ Hackable webserver checks (mainly code red/nimba) 3/ Exploit the connection via a proxy/relay to send 'confirmation' mails. Notes: Server will not stop relaying of mail in any way, if you setup the back end mailserver to accept mail from the SORBS daemon without authentication, you will transform you (secure) mailserver in to an open relay. ie: ensure your mail server thinks the SORBS daemon is just another mailserver on the Internet. *THE SORBS DAEMON ONLY ACTS AS A REVERSE PROXY SERVER* when accepting connections, there is no access control in this version and will not be until v2.0. The database included is a textfile database and is not meant to be used with any large site (more than 1000 emails per day). The database will be able to talk to a 'proper' database in the near future, and at that time it should be able to cope with larger systems. Bugs to fix: Dynamic worker process generation is not working correctly. Please report bugs using the Sourceforge bug tracking system.
